GOODBYE 2009

It's already a year after my leg was amputated on 23rd December 2008. From March this year till today i have achieve all my running mission. Some people say i can only walk after 2 years and could not be a runner. I have proven to all that is wrong. I have gone through pain but it is temporary. Most importance is always have a positive mindset and aim for your goals. Thanks to Dr Wong Yu Sie of Singapore General Hospital and Mr Trevor Binedell of Tan Tock Seng Hospital for caring and making me to walk again. Thanks to MSO Ms Eleen of Tan Tock Seng Hospital for working hard and trying her best to get me a Prosthetic leg. I really appreciate it.

2010 will be a challenging year for me as i will be starting the new regiment training and will be running more marathon in local and international. I have set up my one year goals for 300km in running events.  It's also for me to start my training for Mount Everest. I and my team will be climbing Mount Kinabalu in March 2010 to get the experience. I will also be supporting more Charity events to raise funds for the needy.

I would like to say thanks to my wife and children's for understanding my suffering and taken care of me, The North Face Singapore Mr Walter and Benjamin Chia, NCSS, Beatrice and family for their sponsors, my dear sis Hilda and family are always at my side, Boon Yeong, Andy, Diane, GG, Md Sufian, Moon, Samson Zee and many other friends too for supporting and helping me when i am in need, fans in local and international and many more.

I always will like to say this in my prayer and will like to share it, What ever i have gone through in my life, it's only a test from the God and i will accept it. Thanks to make me a live and be someone. Ya Allah, please lessen my burden and always protect my family, friends and fans around the world. We are always one family and it does not matter what race you are. Keep away all evil things from us.

Good bye 2009! what a great year you are...

STANDCHART SINGAPORE MARATHON 2009

It is my first 42.195km at StandChart Singapore Marathon
on 6 of Dec 2009.

On Sunday morning at about 0325am at Esplanade Drive. I with Md Sufian and Wayne arrived at the event area. We start off with 1.5km run at F1 pit and do some warm up. At about 0505am, me and Md Sufian are at starting point sub 5 area while Wayne standing by at Fullerton One with his camera. We meet Muhammad Sukaimi and some other fans there.

After the flag off at 0530am, we ran towards Shenton Way, Robinson road and Collyer Quay. The crowds over there was watching us and cheers up all the way. It's 3km at Esplanade bridge and we turn to Raffles Ave. While was running at Raffles Blvd, my prosthetic leg hit the road divider and i fell hurt my left arm. Thanks to Md Sufian for helping me. While running we manage to meet Cat women and some of my fans cheering us up.

At Mountbatten road approx 9km with the timing of 49mins, i hurt my hamstring and calf. It's so painful and i have to run and walk to the 20km u turn point at East Coast. We manage to meet Moon and she company me all the way. While running i'm looking for my sister who also doing her first full marathon, friends Boon Yeong, Albert and Diane, could not find them. Maybe they are at front or back row. The weather is so cool and i hope there will be no rain. Now i know how tough is 42km even we have full training. Saw lots of runners running in pain and i do cheers at them "keep running" wish everyone will complete it. It does not matter you walk or run as long must complete the race. Next year you will be doing more better.

My aim  timing is 5hrs but it's over. I feel sad but never give up hope, we ran till the finisher line of 7hrs 28mins near 1315pm in very deep pain and approx 50 meters i sprint right to the end. I have achieve it! It's not the matter of timing it's your mindset. If you set up your goals, you will achieve it. Thanks to Md Sufian, Wayne, Moon and Ramlan for company me all the way.

I am still looking for my sister Hilda. Called her moblie but no one pick up and wonder what will be happen to her. Finally she called me up and completed the race. She told me that she was injured so my wife help her walk to the tent where my family are resting. We had 8 packs of food given by the organizer and Hilda husband pick us and back home. Thanks to William.

This will be my last running event of the year and i have to cancel 2 more run due to injured and recovery my body. I also need to spend time with my buddy Diane to train at Macritchie Reservoir. I also need to train for rock climbing at Yishun Safra and Mountain training.

2010 will be a special year for me as there will be more upcoming events in local and international. It's also my first climb to Mountain Kinabalu with future team Everest.

Check it out for more detail soon.

To all the runners, congrate and recovery soon.
