Singapore First Blade Runner (SBR): JOURNEY TO CYBERJAYA NIGHT RACE 2010.

On Friday 26 March 2010 at about 2130hrs, arrived at Golden Mile Tower Singapore and collected bus tickets from Konsortium. Waited for Jason while my Coach Moon called up and says she will not be able to join us due to high fever. Oh my God! do take care of her when i'm not around and hope she will get well soon. At about 2215hrs meet up with Jason and the bus left 10mins later to Tuas check point. There's a slight jam at our custom. After both site clearance finally we are at Johore Bahru. The bus left all the way to Yong Peng where we had our 30mins break. I had 4 pau's while Jason ate a bowl of mee rebus, look nice but i have to take care of my diet hahaha! It's irritating out there where the bus Customer Service Officer keep calling all coach departing time and the speaker are to loud, you can't even concentrate on your food. Finally we left Yong Peng and in the bus we slept all the way.

At about 0415hrs we arrived at KL and the bus pass by the toll gentry. Jason had a good sleep and i had to wake him up. 20 mins later the bus stop and drop us at Puduraya Terminal, we headed to KFC just across the station and meet up with Donald. All of us keep updating our journey and Donald decided to book a budget hotel near by.

It's 15mins from the bus terminal to Cube hotel and we check in. The hotel look cool. Donald paid RM180 for 2 days. We all slept at about 0545am and wake up at 0830am where we had our breakfast at Puduraya bus terminal hawker centre. After our breakfast we headed to Puduraya LRT station. We paid each RM1.70 to Tasik Selatan and change another train to Putrajaya/Cyberjaya station and that cost each RM5.00. From there we ask the Security Guard what are the bus that goes to Cyberjaya. We took bus no. J429 and paid RM1.90 to Cyberjaya. We could not located the area and the bus driver told us to change another bus no. 1. Hey i manage to meet one of the top female Kenya runner in the bus, maybe she going to run tonight. We drop at a nearby bus stop and decided to take a cab which cost RM6.00 to the event area near Multimedia University. OMG! it's just 15mins lah hahaha!

We arrived at the club house and collected our race packs and OMG! the running vest is out of size. Anyway i got my sponsor tee to wear and not an issued to me but Donald and Jason keep asking for their right size. All fit size has been taken out. I manage to get my coach race pack. Luckly the head lamp is working. Jason bought a hydration bottle while Donald decided either to buy Powerbar tee. I don't think he bought it.

We meet up with few SG Runners out there and took photo. I'm with my laptop keeping updates about our journey. Now is the worst time and how are we going back to Cyberjaya station. There are no feader bus there and finally Donald stop a driver who driving out of the club. I started to feel weak and hungry. The driver is a student from Multimedia University and he is a runner too. He is so kind to drive us all the way to Cyberjaya Station.

We took a train back to Puduraya but we stop at the wrong station. OMG! all of us are hungry and we walk all the way. Jason got an idea where we stop at Berjaya Time Square and had our lunch there. I had a vegeterian rice which cost RM8.70 meanwhile Donald and Jason had Mee. We do our short shopping trip at that area. Jason and I bought a TNF bag. While we were shopping, I felt giddy and felt like vomiting. We decided to rush back to the hotel due to the lackness of sleeping.

Finally we reach our hotel at 1345pm and we had our short rest. We wake up at 1600hrs and decided to book a cab to Cyberjaya which cost RM50.00. All of us are very sleepy. The taxi driver drove us all the way to Cyberjaya and we got lost. His taxi GPS system was not working. Jason remember that area is near the Multimedia University and 20mins later we arrived at the event area.

Once we reached that area, Donald and Jason can't wait to find a toilet. Finally we found Ali Baba toilet near to the event area. Reaching there, we managed to took some photos.

I told Donald and Jason let's do some warm up. We run all the way with our bag pack to the baggage counter.

The full marathon category will be starting in half an hour time. After we left our bag at the counter, Donald and Jason go to the starting area. Meanwhile I hang around and rest near the park. My race will be starting at 8pm. Meet up with few organiser and we took photos. At 1920hrs, I did my evening prayer at the squash court. After praying, I get ready for myself to the starting point. I can feel something is not right in myself. At the starting point, I switch on my head lamp.

At 2000hrs,its the flag off time. I was at my left site and I jog slowly. The Malaysian runners kept on cheering me. After 1km, the road is very dark. Reaching near to a construction site, approx 2.5km my blade hitted few granite stone lying on the road and I fell down. There are few runners help me and I seem to be okay and I kept on running. During my run, I felt that my blade sole is torn off. I could not carry on with my run. OMG! I felt giddy and vomiting. I sat near at the road site and called my personal assistant Alif. He is on the way to the event area. While waiting for him, I cheers for the others not to walk but running. Few runners were running asking me, am I okay. And I reply back, I'm okay and keep on running. At about 45 minutes later, there is female volunteer came and help me. She called for an assistant. While waiting, there a driver who lost in the area and asking where is the starting area. I told him to assist me and I will show the starting area.

This runner as to do his 10km category and he was late. The race had started. There are no sign showing where is the way to the event area. Anyway i told him not to blame himself. Finally we reach there and he had to park his car near a traffic light as the traffic police do not let any vehicle to pass in that area. I sit at the road side and cheer to other runners. My giddy started to get worse and i vomited non-stop. OMG! my handphone Starhub prepaid card is low and my malaysian handphone are in the baggage. While i was walking, i saw my personel asst. Alief and his wife. Suddenly my coach Moon message me what are the timing i completed but i could not reply her back as my prepaid was low. I am so happy and explained to him what had happened. Both of them acompany me to the baggage area and i took my belonging. There are runners who wanted to take picture and also congrate me but they thought that i had finished my race but i had explained to them. They ask me to collect the finisher medal and goody bag but i told them it is not my policy to as i have not completed the race. Alief brought me to the first aid tent and handed me a bottle of mineral water. OMG! what happen to the water it is so warm. After i drank the water, the balanced water i pour it on my head. Alief tried to contact Donald but his handphone was off so he message Donald and told him that Alief will be driving me back to the hotel in KL. Along the journey, i slept in the car but unluckly I told Alief that i stay in the Sibu hotel. Actually, i forget the hotel name due to the tiredness and giddy. I showed him the direction and the hotel actually was located beside a KL police headquater. When we reached the hotel, the receptionist gave me the room key and they asked me where is my other friends. I told them that maybe they are still running. Reach the room, Alief told me that he had to go back Seremban. He told me to call him if anything goes wrong. After thanking him and his wife, i felt relief because without them maybe i will not reach the hotel or maybe lost. I could not sleep as i kept vomiting. At last, i go to the receptionist and asked for a panadol to cure my sickness. They told me they do not have medicine. When i asked them if i take a cab from KL to JB is how much. They told me it is RM300-400. It is very expensive. I told them if my friends arrived asked them to knock the door loudly so that i could wake up. While i was sleeping, then i heard a loud bang on the door. Turn out to be my friends. They told me they receive the message and they told me that they wanted to talk about their experinced in the race. I told them that don't talk to me first as i felt giddy and i wanted to sleep. Donald wanted to go to the shop to buy food but i resist it but he bought panadol. When he came back, i ate the panadol and sleep. I told him not to disturb me as i want to sleep. At around morning, 10plus i woke up as i was feeling cold but the good thing is that i had recovered from my sickness. Suddenly Alief called me and ask whether i am okay and i told him that i am feeling fine and i thanks him and his wife again. I told my friends to bath and check out from the hotel. We left our bags at the hotel counter and went shopping. Then the hotel supervisor recognise me. She told me that he got saw me in the newspaper so she took my picture and wanted to put it at the hotel. She was proud that there is a star staying at her hotel.

We go jalan-jalan cari makan and Jason kept disturbing me by saying singaporebladerunner many times. HAHAHAHA. Donald kept taking my pictures. Then we went to the 8 storey Berjaya Times Square foodcourt. I ate mixed fruits then Penang Laksa then vegeterian rice. Donald and Jason ate noodles and fruits. Then after we eat, Donald wanted to cut his hair but it was too expensive so we walk around. While shopping we came to a donut shop. We bought a box of donuts each. While walking we saw Albert, Linear and Lincon. They told me their experienced at Cyberjaya. We took photos and got this one shop owners stared angrily at us because we block his shop as his business was not good. Albert and his friends are going back to Singapore at 5pm and tomorrow Albert will called me. I go to the 7 eleven to update my laptop about our journeys but could not get connection so i went to the ATM machine and withdraw RM100 for expenses.

Macho man lah!

After that i told my friends that it is 1345hrs and we got to collect back our luggage at the hotel. When we reaches there, the hotel supervisor wanted to take photos and we talk. We forgeted that it is alread 1430hrs. The bus arrived at 1445. We walk very fast but due to the painess on Jason leg i asked them to give me their tickets and i ran all the way to the bus interchanged with my heavy bacpacks. Meanwhile Donald help Jason to the bus interchanged. When i reach there, the counter staff told me that the bus is waiting for us at berth 21. I waited for Jason and Donald to come. This is the worst part, I asked them whether the bus to Singapore has arrived or departure. They ignored us.The bus interchanged located at the basement and the bus engines is smoky wanted to make my friends and i vomited. We are fed up as the bus has not arrived and this waste our time. Finally the bus came at 1520hrs. We got our sit and told my friends that i wnated to sleep as my giddy started again.

Donald had a dreams where he gonna run for ultra in the 4 deserts. Wow! that cool man.

Jason had a good dreams where he will be our future elite runner for sub 1 in SCSM 2012.

From Puturaya bus interchanged to Yong Peng is about 4 half hrs. During the journey we got stuck in a traffic jam. Reached Yong Peng, we wacked on all kinds of foods and we go bought tidbits. After the half and hour breaks the bus go all the way to JB. That is when my wife and younger daughter called me and if i bought anything for them. We reached JB checkpoints about 2015hrs. According to the coach driver there is a new regulation where we must bring our things out and after the JB clearance, we took bus home to Singapore custom. Another problem crooked up where this aunty and uncle quarrel in the bus and it makes my head more giddy. At last we reached our homeland, Singapore. We took our last snaps of photos together. Jaosn took cab home meanwhile Donald and i took feder service bus to Woodlands interchanged. Then we go our seperates way. I reached home around 2300hrs and i was happy to meet my family who waited for me. I was happy and told them what happened. My younger daughter keep pesturing me where is my medals. I told her that i will achieve the medal back again.
