Wake up at 10am after watching late night movie "King Kong"

Had 1st sac of Xango before breakfast. Took walnut Country Loaf and a cup of black coffee. This afternoon wedding invitation i won't be attending but will be sending my family to be the reprensitive. It's time for me to relax my mind and keep hydrating myself.

Left home at about 1.30pm to Changi Village and from there i will took a cab to Changi Avation Park where the race will be held.

Arrived at event site around 3.15pm and meet up with few of my friends all the way from UK and US.

Had my 2nd sac of Xango and hydrating GO Electrolyte. Took i small box of corn flakes for lunch.

With my foreigner friends, we change ourself at the Pit shop and later meet up again with other runners from Taiwan, Malaysian, Morocco and many more also took photo with Adam1armrunner. Meet up with Sam Chong, Rita Bidin, Mohan, Munira, Jason, Singh, Lincon and many more. At the SIS booth took pic of myself and goup photos.

I had my 1km warm up run and streched up my fully body and after it is done, so this is the moment that i had been wating for the past 1 year. Entering to the Ultra gate. My mind and body is still strong.

At the starting point had a short prayer and can feel the "ring of fire" in my body.

Meet up again with Adam at the starting point and went the gun down we sprint 50 meter and start to slow run all the way. I told him to proceed first as he is dam fast while for me i just want to have an easy run.

OMG! the first 10km at Changi Coast Road is very humid and i have to pour water at the flex-run leg as i can feel the heat in the socket. Had 1 sac of SIS cafine gel. During the run, meet up with this guy and he pace me all the way and also carry a bottle of water for me. Really inspire and appreciate it. Thanks to him.

I manage to get his name in the FB. He is also a member of Sgrunners, Peter Leong.

We reach our first 22km check point and keep running towards ECP and i took 2nd sac of SIS energy gel. During the run we meet up with supporters and they handed over sports drink to me. I also meet up with Mohammad Sukaimi and his family and friends. They cheers us all the way.

Near to 30km i had my 3rd sac of SIS cafine gel. and this time meet up with our friend from Taiwan, he is known as the backward runner. OMG! he is dam fast man! We took photo and ran together near 33km.

Back again to Changi Coast Road and near to 40km had my 4th sac of SIS gel and we reach our first 42km 1st loop before 12 midnight.

I did well in the run and have no experince of tiredness or injury at my leg.

I change my socks and decided not change the shoe as the TNF Arnuva boa that i wear did well and i get ready for the 2nd loop and load up 4 more SIS gels. Had 20mins rest before heading back to the 2nd loop.

The first 2km i had a slow walk and spotted Jason who has completed his 21km category and he company me all the way from Avation Road to the traffic light near 3km where i start on running to Changi Coast Road. Jason went back to the race site. During the run spotted one of my friend Moon who is also running ultra but i wanted to pace her but decided not too and i believe she wants to be alone and for me i need to be fast. Reaching the 10km had my 5th sac of SIS energy gel and continue my journey. OMG! i manage to beat few ultra runners who is walking at the ECP Service Road.

I had my 6th sac of SIS cafine jel near 20km and reach the check point and make a u turn back to ECP. Near to 66km i feel not easy at the socket and i decided to stop and adjust the prosthetic leg. About 15mins later when i started to wake up from the seat i felt there's a sharp pain at the back and i continue to walk and reaching near 68km i can feel the pain getting worse and request for help. The volunteers called up the medical team to assist me. I lay on the table with pain and can't even move my body and medic started to cold spray at the back. An ambulance on the way and they have to send me to Changi General Hoapital as they worried it could be serious.

I have to give up the race and don't want to force myself and get worse on it. Anyway i have achieve my ultra up to 68km. I have more upcoming race ahead and why must force yourself. Always listen to your body.

At the hospital a doctor had attended me and request for the xtray. Result will know soon. I am still in pain and can't move. An injection had been given to me to lessen the pain.

Doctor advice me to rest at the moment and hope the soreness at the spine will be recovery soon.

Back again to the race area where i need to collect my belonging. Thanks to Adam, Zul, Jason and Singh who help me carry my bag as i could not do so due to pain.

had our makan at Pasir Ris. OMG! all of us ate nasi briyani while Adam is sleeping at the corner due to his tiredness.

Before heading to Pasir Ris i had recevied a call from one of my friends. He told me that Dr Wong Yue Sie has departed on 28th May 2010. I was shocked as he is the doctor from Singapore General Hospital dept of ortopedik who amputated my leg in Dec 2008 and he always advice me. He also my hero and because of him i started to be a runner. He knows what i want. He knows how to make smooth at the bone area and he told me that i can be back to walk soon. I will always remember him. Good Bye Doctor!

At the Pasir Ris Kopi Thiam i had 1 sac of Xango and took lunch with friends before heading home.

I recevied so many called and sms from friends and fans. They really concern on me and i wish them congrat and well done on the race and i also recevied  nagative from few runners who says i have not train enough and also need to have massage.

Thanks for the nagative parts as i know my body well and it's not they to judge but God. You can go for so many massage, training or even attend course but you can't predict the future. Once again thank you to the nagative runners or person and i think they are the Big Loser!

To all my runners friends rest well and keep hydrate yourself and to all who has been complete the race, congrat and well done and for those who have not why need to be down? You too had done well and learn from mistake and see you guys in 2011 Sundown.!

FRIDAY TRAINING.

The moody mood and stress started in my head since early morning and it's nothing to do with the race tomorrow. Anyway good morning everyone and 1 day to the big day. I will be running 84km ultra at Adidas Sundown Marathon. To all runners have a good rest and relax your mind and listen to all the motivational song in my blog. The dream that you guys had been wating for is around the corner.

At 12.30pm i will be at Masjid Al-Falah for Friday prayer.

Later at 2pm after prayer will be meeting Jason at Novena for lunch.

Reach home at 5pm and rest.

At 8.00pm i will start a slow 2.5km run around Yishun Central.

It's 10pm and 10 more hrs to Sundown. Have a good rest and sleep well.

THURSDAY TRAINING.


Today is my Rest Day. No training.

Wake up at 7.45am and get ready to my 3rd daughter school at Naval Base Primary School to collect her report book. She did well in the exam.

At 9.30am to KK Hospital where she will be going for scanning, full blood count and doctor appointment due to her liver sentosis and hypertension.

The blood test result is good even she had a slight fever.

At 13.40pm meet up with Alief for lunch at fork and spoon Novena. I ate seafood spag while Alief had chicken rice. After lunch we went to Coffee Bean for coffee.

We discuss on our upcoming business project for Asia market. During our meeting meet up with Runner Dan Tung and later my wife and children join in for coffee.

Many runners drop by at Coffee Bean and say hi to me.

Later at 6pm rush to Masjid Kassim for my maghrib prayer and meet up with few runners for our carbo load party.

At 7.45pm, i am the first one to arriv at Mak Place and reserve the table. While wating for friends to arrive i update on my dairy.

Finally all of us are at Changi Road. It's PARTY TIME!

We laugh, we ate and i see all my friends face of happines and joys. It's the dream that they are wating for on Saturday night.

Thank you guys! We all had a great time.

Thanks to Ira for driving us back home and i hope you fall in love with the adidas pouch hahahaha!

WEDNESDAY TRAINING.

Today is my rest day no training.

Later at noon need to be at Northstar@AMK to collect supplyment for Sundown Marathon such as gel and recovery drink. Thanks to Mr Patrick M Lee of 2xSFB Pte Ltd who sponsored me the Science in Sport (SIS) nutrition.

At 2pm i need to be at ALC of Tan Tock Seng Hospital to meet up with my personal Prothetist Mr Trevor to collect ossur liner for Sundown Marathon and change the sole of my flex-run leg.

At 2.45pm i and Trevor will be rushing to SGH where we will be giving talks to NUS Medical Students on Prothetic leg.

Later at night i will be having dinner at City Hall.

TUESDAY TRAINING.

At 6.30pm meet up with few runners at Velocity@Novena running lab for our weekly night run.

I am the only runner in the group run 5km. I do not want to push myself as Sundown Marathon is around the corner where i will be running Ultra 84km.

On the back home meet up with Ira one of my fans in FB. Finally got to see her. She is rushing to fatch her husband.

At 9pm meet up with runner Lincon for dinner at Novena where we both ate Pasta.

Finally reach home at 10.30pm.

MONDAY TRAINING.

Did night recovery 5km slow run around Yishun Central.

Also tested my new TNF running shoe "Sentinel Boa" the shoe really fit me and no complaint of pain at the feet.

Left home around 12pm to Changi Airport T2 Coffee Bean where i had a cup of black coffee and two bagel. Relax my mine before heading to East Coast Park.

Arrived ECP around 2pm where i change up myself into sports attire.

One more day to 100 Passion run.

MEN'S HEALTH JUNE 2010.

RESTING AND RECOVERY.

Today is my rest and recovery day.

Later at 2pm meeting Jason at The Coffee Bean, Velocity@Novena

At 7pm need to be at Simei ITE, meet parent's session for my daughter. OMG! so fast and she is 16 now. Whenever we went out together everyone thinks she is my girlfriend hahaha!

Hope to reach home early by 9pm.

Two (2) more days for Singapore Passion Run and i'm fully ready!  Will take it easy on that day as i will be focus more on Sundown Ultra.

To all runners out there! How's training? It's time for you guys to slow down and relax your mind! All the best and remember this, focus and complete the race. Good Luck!

3 more days to Singapore Passion Run where i will be running as a guest runner for 25km solo.

It's already 1 week and i had been losing more weight and also did well in the run. No other comment.

TUESDAY TRAINING.

At 5pm did 5km run from Yishun Central to Yio Chu Kang stadium.

After warming up there and i left to Yio Chu Kang MRT to Novena@velocity running lab where i meet the rest of the runners there.

We have two (2) groups, i am the pacer for my 5km group while the rest runs for10km. The run start at 7pm and we headed towards Novena to Thomson road and turn in to Mediacrop station and u turn back to Thomson road and Novena.

All of us had  fun over there and hope to see them again next week.

MONDAY TRAINING.

At 8am did slow run approx 2.5km around Yishun Central.

At 11.30am press interview with Jounalist Serene Luo from Straits Times and Adam onearmrunner at Starbuck coffee Plaza Singapura.

At 4pm appointment with runner Lincon to discuss on Bataan Death March race.

At 6pm need to fatch younger daughter back from School.

SUNDAY TRAINING

Wake up at 8am and went market with wife.

At 11.30am fatch daughter's back from religious classes at Geylang and later will be attending 4 wedding funtions at Tampines, Bedok, Clementi and Jurong West.

OMG! it's carbo load party hahaha!

Cancel training due to rainning.

It's a cool day and the weather is so cold. Good to sleep.

SATURDAY TRAINING.

At 9.30am rushing to Handicap Walfare Association for HN1 jap and also meeting friends there.

Race pack collection for Singapore Passion Run will be held at Vivocity@Novena coffee bean and Running Lab store. I will be there to collecting the race kits around 12pm. I will be the guest runner for Singapore Passion Run 2010.

Meet up with Jack Lai, Zul, Samual, Jason, Adam and many more runners.

By 4pm need to rush home, need a good rest as i will be running LSD run at night.

At 7.40pm set up my head lamp and signal light also i had my MP4 with me. With heavy load of bag pack i start running from Loyang Juntion traffic light near Pasir Ris and ran towards Loyang Ave to Changi Village towards Changi Coast Road and turn to Changi Coastal Walk towards ECP to Fort Road. Don't know the distance meters.

Reach Fort road around 11.20pm. Both of my legs getting week and had a slight fever due to morning jap for HN1. Had shower over there and flag off a cab to Yishun.

No complaining of stump pain or socket problem and did well in the run.

Will write in to National Park regarding park lamp post no light and it's very dark on certain location. Worried for female runners when they ran alone.

Time for me to get a good rest and good night everyone.

FRIDAY TRAINING.

At 12 noon to Al-Falah mosque attend Friday prayer. Meet up with Mohammad.

2pm had lunch at Velocity@Novena and later rush to meet up with my 2nd daughter and her friend at Woodlands Causeway Point.

Went for a jog around Yishun Central.

Reach home around 1130pm.

THURSDAY TRAINING.

Rest day no training.

At 12 noon meet up with Jane and Thaddeus Lawrence at Velocity@Novena to discuss on their journey to Sahara Desert Race. I manage to get more info for preparation my next race to Sahara.

At 2pm attend meeting to discuss upcoming projects.

Reach home late and skip dinner.

WEDNESDAY TRAINING.

At 5pm did 5km run around Yishun Central.
Saw my neighbour who is in running gear, OMG! he had lost lot of his weight and he told me, "Shariff thanks so much for inspired me" hahaha! i dun believe myself, i have change lots of people's life. I just want everyone to stay fit and strong. Join in more sports activity.

At 9pm meet up with Runner Dan Tung at Woodlands Causeway Point Mac to discuss on upcoming project.

Reach home at 11.20pm. Had a good bath and time for me to sleep. Ya hoo! tomorrow is my rest day, no training!

At 6pm i was at Running Lab Novena. After changing my running gear and about 12 runners we ran towards Novena to Bt Timah Road via CCAB and back to Bt Timah and Novena Square. Approx 9km. Had fun with the runners.

MONDAY TEST.

Did another test run from Yishun Central to Yio Chu Kang Stadium approx 6km. So far no complaint on the prosthetic leg. Very happy with the result and i believe it will be alright soon. Still waiting for the new liner sock.

SUNDAY TEST

After changing the prosthetic leg socket did test on it. So far no complaint of any heat or pain.

It too early to say and just did 2.5km run. Will do another test on Monday night.

RECOVERY REST.

I will not be doing my training since thursday due to my prosthetic leg new liner sock size 12 is so tight. I can feel the heat and grip around at the stump area. OMG! how painful it is when 1am running or walking. Already feed back to my prosthetist and a new liner will be arrived soon. Hope by next week will start back on the training. It not an easy life to be a handicap. The cost of my maintenance on prosthetic leg at times will amounted to thousand of dollars. Everything will get well soon and can't wait for Sundown marathon. To other runners keep going on your training.

TUESDAY TRAINING.

At 2pm meet up with my Prothetist, Mr Trevor at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and discuss on my flex-run leg that i encounter pain at the stump. He had adjust it and will ordered me a new liners sock.

Reach home at 5pm and fatch my younger daughter back from school. I cooked sardin dishes for the family and eeems.... they like it hehehe!

At 9pm, i get ready myself and went for 5km run around Yishun. So far no complaints of stump pain and did well in the run where i manage to beat other runner who were running there too. 5km time is 18.23sec.

I had a great day.

MONDAY TRAINING.

At 1700hrs after Asar prayer i get ready myself for a slow run from Yishun Central to Novena Velocity. During the run felt stiff at the knee of my prosthetic leg. Will called up Mr Trevor, my prothetist from TTSH tomorrow to fix an appointment to adjust the flex-run leg.

Was at Running Lab store and meet up the staff there to check out any latest product has arrived.

Hey check it out more item are there such as running top and short and also shoes.

Look out for any staff there and they will assist you. Just mention i'm SBR friends. Ops! no discount execpt using Citi Bank and Safra card get 10%  hahaha!

SUNDAY TRAINING

Start at 1600hrs run 8km from Pasir Ris Park to Changi Village. I have to stop my journey here because another problem crooked up on my prosthectic leg. I should not have used the Liners sock no. CE 20. Actually i just want to test this sock for running but this sock make my stump more pain. so now i know the things that i should prepare for Sundown marathon. I'll be starting back my training schedule for the first week of May and i used the things that i should be using for the marathon.
Reach home at 7 and had a good bath and do my Maghrib prayer and also hydrate well.

SATURDAY TRAINING

Start at 1700hrs for the LSD 25km run from Changi Village to ECP Fort Road. While running i meet up with Moon. She followed me from behind by using bicycle. So far i keep running for 10km.Near the Changi MOE camp i stop and had my break then i remove my prosthetic leg and my Liners sock.

Finished the break i continue running but my stump felt very pain. During my run i kept stoping to correct the position of my Liners sock. I carry on running until at the ECP Ski pond. Moon bought for me the 100plus isotonic drink. Then she had to go back as tomorrow she need to work. I continue my journey of running to Fort Road. During my run i felt pain at my stump again. but i meet up with of my friends training for the Sundown marathon. I learnt something new that during running i should not have removed my Liners sock and prosthetic leg.

Finally reached home near midnight. I had a good bath and then i hydrate myself and time to SLEEP! Gdnite everyone.

NEW BEGINNING MONTH OF MAY

Today is the new month of May in 2010. I'm going to start my night run for the preparation of Sundown Marathon which i'm going to run for Ultra 84KM.
I need to concentrate my mind as this run is very challenging because it's a night run where you may feel sleepy and at night is very humid so i need to be very patient and endure all the way. JY!
I'm going to start my night training till the day of the Sundown Marathon. I'll make sure that I'll be hydrated with water every day.
I'll also be submitting my daily report to Coach Moon.
