Tuesday 30 August 2011. 1st Syawal.


Forgiveness is beauty and it brightens the future. Here I will like to take this opportunity to wish everyone Selamat Hari Raya Maaf Zahir dan Batin. To others happy holiday and have a great day ahead.

I won't be in Face Book and updating the status on this blog as I will be very busy with lots of appointment and visiting to attend this weekend. I will be back to update on Friday 2 Sept 2011.

Monday 29 August 2011. Ramadan day 29.

I could not post the few days events due to very thigh schedule.

Good Morning! Sahur, Sahur, Sahur and today is the last day to fast for the year 2011.


At 0345am I am going for a short distance approx 10km around the Yishun Estate and 0500am 7 dates with a glass of fresh milk sound nice! This is enough for me till the breakfast in the evening.

This evening after breaking the fast, thanks giving prayer and the start of Shawal.

World's Saddest Dolphins Concert on 28 August 2011.



I was invited to give a short speech on the concert to save the world's saddest dolphins.

Dolphins are born in the sea; please let them free and easy. They need big places to move around and it's not a puppet where you can keep it in a small pool and they can't move much. 

STOP! now before it's too late! let do our part and give support for the World's Saddest Dolphins.

If I can give a hand to stop, so can you.

Friday 26 August 2011. Ramadan Day 26.

Today is cooling day for the President Election Day and all the best to the 4 hope full President. Only one will be the victory and the result will be announce on the Election Day 27 August 2011 anytime after 10pm onward.

Later at 0345am I will be heading for 10km run around Yishun Estate. Today will be another busy day for me as later in the morning at 8am I will be attending funeral, 2pm press interview with my youngest daughter for the Army Half Marathon and later at 4pm to ICA Building collect passport.

SAHUR

As usual later I will be having dates, whole wheat biscuit with a cip of fresh milk. I will update later in the evening. Have a great day ahead. 

BREAKFAST

I and my family had special dinner at Hajah Maimunah Restaurant. We had various kind of dishes.

Thursday 25 August 2011. Ramadan Day 25.

Gooooooooooood morning!

I slept only for 3 hrs and later at 0345am I will be heading for a short run around Yishun Estate and cardio training. 

It's already 25 days of fasting and left another 5 days to go before Hari Raya falls on 30th August 2011. Another busy day for me today as later in the afternoon I will be heading to KK Hospital for my daughter blood test and scanning. In the evening I will be heading for another dinner with friends at Hajah Maimunah Restaurant.

SAHUR

Later at 5am I will be having a cup of fresh milk, dates and tuna sandwiches. I will update later in the evening. Have a great day ahead.

BREAKFAST

Well, we all had nasi hidagan at Hajah Maimunah Restaurant at Joo Chiat Complex. Nice to meet Bro Aman all the way from Sabah and the rest of the runners too.

Wednesday 24 August 2011. Ramadan Day 24.

OH NO! I wake up late again, miss the morning training.

Gonna be a busy day for me, going to ICA, Hospital, Geylang and Singapore Swimming Club for dinner and presentation.

SAHUR

I had dates, wheat bread and a cup of fresh milk. I will update later tonight.

BREAKFAST

This evening I am at Singapore Swimming Club attend cheque presentation. I had a bowl of salad, grill chicken and fruits at the end. Thanks to The Lion Club of Singapore who support me during the Sundown Ultra Marathon.

I am writing a book here are some of the text.

Ya Allah,

Setiap hari menjelma aku akan merasakan amat sedih dan tiada kebahagian dalam hidup ini, aku mengharapkan dapat pulang dengan cepat dan tidak menyusahkan orang lain, Hanya kau saja yang tau apa maksud ku ini.

Biarlah aku dihina, maki hamun, caci dan apa saja, aku adalah seorang sampah yang hidup sementara waktu saja. Izin lah aku menumpang teduh di dunia ini.

Fikiran ku selalu di ganggu, aku selalu bersenyuman tetapi hati aku menangis. 

Kau beri lah aku kekuatan dan semagat untuk menjalani hidup ini dan kau ceriakan lah dan tambahkan resqi ku ini amin. 

Tuesday 23 August 2011. Ramadan Day 23.

OH MY GOODNESS! I wake up late this morning but manage to go for run at 0420am.

Ever since I start training in the early morning hours, some resident's in Yishun Estate including my own HDB block neighbor has followed the footstep of mine.

It's good to see them jogging, running and brisk walking to keep fit and strong. Not only that I intro them with cardio training and giving tips on how to keep healthy.

SAHUR

I had dares, wheat bread with tuna salad and a cup of fresh milk. I will update later tonight and have a great day ahead.

My 2nd daughter cook for me fish spaghetti. Thanks.

Monday 22 August 2011. Ramadan day 22.

I am feeling much better now, at 0345am I will be heading for a short 5km run around Yishun Estate to keep my body warm up and cool. Army Half Marathon is around the corner and I need to keep on training to keep me going.

SAHUR

Later after the run I will be having GU recovery drink and at 5am I will be having dates, fruits and wheat bread with peanut butter. I will update later in the evening.

I went for another 5km run around Yishun Estate, the weather in the evening is so humid and the pollution  smoke from the vehicle is high and at times I could not breath well. Yishun Park is still going under construction and I have to wait for another few months to reopened.

BREAKFAST

I had dates and a glass of fresh milk. At 1945pm I went to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for dinner, fish grill sound nice!

Later I am going bed at 2300pm and I need to wake up early again for another round of training. Good Night!

Sunday 21 August 2011. Ramadan Day 21.

Last night I was not feeling well having flu and fever. Took some medicine and drank plenty of water, I hope to get well soon and I have to skip this morning training.

SAHUR

Later at 5am I will be having dates and fruits, no mood of taking other stuff as I feel so weak. Going to bed again. I will update later.

BREAKFAST

I had dates and porridge, drank plenty of water and went to bed early.


Saturday 20 August 2011. Ramadan Day 20.

Another beautiful Saturday morning and later at about 8am I am heading to Geylang Serai with my family for market.

Firstly I will start my day with running for a short distance around Yishun Estate. Maybe I am going for 10km in fast pace.

SAHUR

Later I will be having dates, oats with blue berries muffin and a cup of low fats milk.

DINNER

This evening I am having dinner with my family members and Mohammad Sufian at Bugis Tiong Eng Coffice shop. I am having a big bowl of fish soup.

Friday 19 August 2011. Ramadan Day 19.

Today is my rest day no training. Starting from today onward I will be very busy attending President hopeful walkabout and supporting his campaign all the way to 25 August 2011. Friday 26 is Cooling day and 27 August 2011 will be the Election. 

Not just that, one of the special night during Ramadan falls somewhere around this or next week and need to wake up early morning to do extra prayer.

I had dates, bananas and cup of milk.

BREAKFAST

Dates with a plate of rice and chicken breast meat, vegetables and followed by fruits.

NOMINATION DAY

Today is nomination day and all the best to the four hopeful President. Does not matter who he is as long he is the people's President. Later I will be heading to PA and support my choice of President.

I will miss Mr Nathan as his term will be end soon and he is the longest ever President in the seat. Anyway wish him all the best and hope to see him during his morning walk at ECP.

Later at 0345am I will be heading for 10km run around Yishun Central. Run and run to keep me in good shape, healthy living and good health. How about you guys? if you can't run go for a short walk as long you stay fit and strong. Anyway I will update later on after the run.


This morning I cool feel the weather is humid, no wind at all and while running I sweat a lot. Drink plenty of water to keep me going. OMG! I think I am the only runner to run at this hour lol!

I am going to bed early as I need to wake up at 3.30am for a short run. Good night and have a sweet dream.

Monday 15 August 2011. Ramadan day 15.

Wishing everyone have a great day ahead.

I just received my COE to Boston Marathon and I am qualified under class T44 athlete.
I could believe it and will do my very best and thanks God. Right now I have to choose the correct year when to go and hope did not clash with the upcoming climbing dates.

Today is my rest day, no training and will be resting at home.

SAHUR

I wake up late at about 5am and took dates, fruits and wheat bread, drink plenty of water before the fasting start. I will update later in the evening.

BREAKFAST

I had dates with 1 set of tuna sandwiches with cup of fresh orange.

Sunday 14 August 2011. Ramadan Day 14.

I hope the weather today is fine and here is wishing everyone a very good morning and have a great Sunday ahead.

It's gonna be a busy day for me with lots of events to attend. This morning there are no training and later I will be heading to East Coast Park for Handicap Welfare Association HWA, Wheel, Walk or Jog WWJ event and I will lead the run together with the rest.

At 2pm I will be attending and supporting one of the President Hopeful.

SAHUR

This morning I took dates and wheat bread and a cup of black coffee. Keeping hydrating is the best before the break start. I will update later in the evening.

BREAKFAST

Today I break my boundaries with having something heavy with family members at Yishun North Point Shopping center. I took, paper dosai, etelee, char kew teow and fruits, nice and yummy lol! Once a while you need to taste the nice food.

Saturday 13 August 2011. Ramadan Day 13.

On 4 September 2011 I will be running the Safra Bay Run for the half marathon and 800 meters with my daughter for the father and child challenge.

Not only running but I will be raising fund for Muhammad Noor Azri Bin Abdul Rahman who was then a Sec 4 student of Victoria School who met an accident in 2008.

This morning I decided not to train at staircase due to the upcoming Safra Bay Run. Will focus more on the run. I went 5km around Yishun Estate.

SAHUR

Aiyo! macam biasa lah, I took dates and just 2 pic of wheat bread and keep hydrating myself. I gonna spend my day at home resting unless something need to do. I will update later in the evening. Have a great day ahead.

I had a 2nd short run in the evening around Yishun Estate and meet up with few familiar faces too. Everyone is training for AHM.

BREAKFAST

This evening I had dates and a cup of plain water. After Maghrid prayer I went to Yishun Hospital for Grill Chicken at Fish & Co. The food is so yummy yummy mama mia! taste nice! 

While resting, I called up Mr Rahman, father of Muhammad Noor Azri and we had a discussion. I will be meeting with them somewhere around next week and also will be meeting Uncle Phillip from Sydney who previously had help the family. Uncle Phillip will be arriving Singapore on 5 September 2011.

Let's see how we can help the family.

Tomorrow will be a busy day for me attending lots of function, maybe take extra food later tonight.

Friday 12 August 2011. Ramadan Day 12.

Let the rest of our life be the best of our life.

It's TGIF, my rest day and time to have a good recovery rest. Later I will be heading to Kaki Bukit to renew the contract with The North Face and Zoot. Thanks to my Principal Sponsors since 2009.

SAHUR

What I am going to eat today? Maybe something light again? Well! dates and wealth bread spread with peanut butter sound nice. I will update later in the evening.


Announcement of retirement to my buddy, Sentinel Boa and Arnuva  50 Boa who had been loyal to me since 2009 and completed more than 1000km of running including training and races. I will display these shoes during my motivational and Inspiration seminar.

Thursday 11 August 2011. Ramadan Day 11.

My previous life from 1968 to 2008 is very tough. I had been going through so many obstacles but I started to be a sportman since early 2009 and life has been change lots. Forget about the past and and make it as memories to remember. Thanks God for giving me the strength.


Now, the present is to keep going, never surrender and give up! I will keep on Inspiring till the day I left.


Back to training this morning, I feel so fresh and I am going for a short run around Yishun Estate.


SAHUR


Later I will be taking dates, GU recovery drink and wheat bread with tuna. Keep hydrating till the time to stop 5 mins before Subuh prayer. I will update later in the evening.

This evening I breakfast with my buddy Sufian at Yishun Wendy. We start off with dates and plate of Grill Chicken Salad. Healthy choice.

I just took dates and a bottle of mineral water as I am at Marina attending National Day Parade. After the event I will be rushing to Jurong for another National Day dinner with family members. As my race date is nearer, I could not go for other foods just took Chicken salad and spaghetti for dinner.

This morning I wake up at 3am and did few sets of strength training at the void deck. 

SAHUR

I had 3 dates with oat meal and cup of black coffee. Will keep on hydrating before the breakfast start at 0534am.

This afternoon at 2pm, I will be helping Bishan MAEC members to distribution porridge at Bishan CC Multi Purpose Hall. I will also be giving some tips on how to stay fit and strong. Do drop by there. I will update later tonight.

Saturday 6 August 2011. Ramadan Day 6.

VICTORY is waiting for you on the next race list. Time to focus and keep on training, get your personal best record and make a history. 

OMG! I could not sleep the whole night and wake up at 3am, never took tea before going to bed. Anyway I am heading for staircase training at my own Blk. I will be carrying 10kg of bag pack and climb 12 floor X 3 followed by some workout. 

SAHUR

This morning I will took 3 dates and half boil egg with wheat bread  and a bottle of GU recovery drink.

Later at 10am I will be heading to City Square for Team Everest meeting.

Update on Everest Mission: As the fonder of the team, I am so happy that the team is in progress and we manage to get few sponsorship, thanks to the team Capt and the rest of the climbers for doing a good job. At this moment the climbers are doing their own training to keep fit and strong. I will be meeting with the team again during training after Hari Raya to motivate them.

Our team website will be launch on 9 August 2011, do clip on the team picture right above the diary. Once again thank you to all for the support given and we will do our best to achieve all the way to 2015.

I breakfast this evening with 3 dates and drank plenty of water. After the Maghrib prayer I had mushroom soup with grill chicken.

Friday 5 August 2011. Ramadan Day 5.

Without courage, you can't achieve the dream.

Ya Hooooo! today is my rest day, no training.


SAHUR

This morning I had 3 dates with fruits and tuna sandwiches. That is enough with lots of plain water.

Later I will be sending my youngest daughter to School. OK guys! I off now, will update later in the evening.

OMG! I lost 3 kilo since the first day of Ramadan and that is a good sign. This afternoon I spend myself walking up and down approx 2km from my home in Yishun St 61 to Darul Maknur Mosque for Friday prayer. This is one of the best exercise rather than taking bus.

Not only that diet play a part too. Avoid oily stuff and go for more vegetables and soup.

BREAKFAST

This evening I break the fast with 3 dates and a bowl of porridge. Drank plenty of water before going bed at 10pm.

This morning I went for a 10km run around Yishun Estate. Hey! nice cool weather but take it slow and easy.

Reach home and wake up my family for sahur.

This morning I had 3 dates with a bowl of fruits salad and GU recovery drink. Will update in the evening. Have a great day ahead.

BREAKFAST

I break the fast with 3 dates, fruits and a bowl of fish soup. This is enough for me and in the middle of night if I am hungry will take energy bar.

I was watching "IMPIAN SI KECIL" on MediaCorp Suria channel and the story is so touch on young disability who have dream. To achieve this they have to focus and make it happen.

HOW TO STAY FIT AND STRONG DURING FASTING MONTH.

Here I will like to share on how to stay fit and strong during fasting month.
  • Have Enough Sleep
    I know it's gonna be tough for some people but at least have 5 to 7 hours of resting will make you stronger on the next day.

  • Breaking the Fast
    Start off your day with dates or fruits. Avoid heavy stuff such as oily food and possible take soft diets. Drinking warm water is the best choice. Remember to take your Vita C too.

  • Keep Hydrating
    Our weather in Singapore is so humid. After breaking the fast keep hydrating with plain water at least 8 glasses a day. Drink more water is also good to clear all toxic in the body.

  • Exercise
    Fasting does not mean resting and no exercise. This is the best time to lose weight and keep doing light exercise such as jogging, brisk walking and abs/strength workout. You can do it before breaking the fast or even right after terawih prayer. For me I choose to do it in the early morning where the weather is fresh. After my exercise I will normally take GU Recovery drink.

  • During Sahur
    If your're working in the day do take some carbohydrate and for those who wants to be at home the whole day (OFF DAY)  my advice is to take sandwiches and fruits. Do also drink plenty of water.

  • Positive Thinking
    How to think positive, is to keep away all the stress moment. Forget about the past and start a new life. I know it's tough, I already went it through. The best way is keep smiling and cheers yourself. If you need help speak to the correct person and get advice. Remember if you kept to yourself for a long time it will effect the brain.

    Do pray and ask God for help too. If you're prayer is answered, God love you but if not that doesn't mean no love it's just a test to see how you can take it. Every test will come out with good result, just be patience.

    Finally these are the tips that I will like to share about. Here is wishing everyone in good health and may God bless you all with peace and happiness, more wealth and stay positive always.

Wednesday 3 August 2011. Ramadan Day 3.

Always think positive and never give up!

This morning I wake up at 3.30am and went for running drills at the void deck. Did few type of drills with repetition. 

Today I will discharge my old TNF Sentinal Boa shoe that had been used for more than 200km in races. I will get another pair of TNF shoes this coming Friday after renew my contract.

SAHUR

I had 3 dates with GU Recovery drink and followed by pan cakes. I will keep on hydrating before the break start. I will update later in the evening.

BREAKFAST

I had 3 dates with Fruits. After performing Maghrib prayer I went to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital that is nearby my home and took grill chicken with mash potato.

Thanks God, finally it's raining in Yishun and after the makan took a slow walk all the way to Blk 610 and perform terawih prayer. Reach home and went to bed early.

Tuesday 2 August 2011. Ramadan Day 2.

To reach the top, you need to go high and don't give up half way. Keep going and focusing!

The weather here is so humid in the early morning and I only got to slept about 3 hours. Keep hydrating myself and get ready for a short 5km run around Yishun Estate.

SAHUR

After the run I had GU recovery drink and followed by 3 dates. Later I will be having Oats with whole wheat bread and keep hydrating myself with plain water. This evening I will be at Running Lab@Novena Square for GU Testing Session but I will join the runners after breaking the fast. Will update later tonight.

BREAKFAST

I had 3 dates, GU Chomp and Yong Tau Foo soup at Fork & Spoon in Novena Square 2. Nice to meet the runners and on behalf of Running Lab, I will like to thanks all the runners for supporting the GU Testing Session. Once again thank you and see you all in the upcoming races. Meanwhile keep training and keep going, take it slow and easy but don't give up! Good Night!

Monday 1 August 2011. Ramadan day 1.

Assalaamualaikum a very good morning and alhamdulilah it's the first day of Ramadan. Once again to all Muslim brother's and sister's, Selamat Menjalani Ibadah Puasa dan semoga di bulan Ramadan ini membawa rahmat dan berkah bagi anda sekeluarga. Amin.

Today is my rest day, no training.

SAHUR

I will start my day with 3 dates and 1 sac of Xango. Later I will be eating tuna sandwiches and hydrate myself before fasting start at 05.35am and subuh prayer will be 05.45am. Will update my post in the evening, meanwhile keep going and focus what you're doing. Have a great day everyone.

BREAKFAST

I breakfast at 1917pm with 3 dates and fruits. After performing the Maghrib prayer I took fish porridge and drank plenty of water to keep hydrate.

At 2020pm I will be heading to terawih prayer at the nearby block and hope to meet again MP Muhammad Faisal where we will perform our prayer together. I hope to reach by home at 2230pm and get to sleep early.
