1) Why did you pick the SAFRA Singapore Bay Run and Army Half Marathon as your first run in Singapore?
The reason why I picked up AHM as my first run in history as I feel after wearing the flex-run leg, why don't I try something new in life? By keeping myself fit and strong via sports I would able to inspire & encourage those disability person out there to join sports in order to make themselves healthy and show the world that they are also talented.
I dedicate this run to Bro Ahmad Saufi B Osman who met a traffic accident last year and who now is in the stage of paralyses, and I wish donors will give a hand to help his medical expenses, donors can write in to reen.taha@gmail.com and after the run I will hand over the finisher medal to him as a token so he could be in strong mindset to recovery fast
Saya menyertai larian AHM sebagai larian pertama saya kerana selapas memakai kaki “flex-run” saya terfikir kenapa tidak saya cuba sesuatu yang baru dalam kehidupan saya? Dengan menjaga kesihatan saya melalui sukan, saya yakin dapat mengilhami dan mendorong golongan cacat anggota untuk menyertai sukan untuk kesihatan dan untuk menunjukkan dunia bahawa golongan cacat anggota juga berbakat.
2) When did you discover your passion for sports?
Last year in May 2009, after 3 months after the amputation recovery
Pada tahun May 2009, 3 bulan selepas saya pulih dari amputasi.
3) What gives you the motivation to keep running to break your previous records?
To believe in myself, focus and make it happen plus after viewing the video of Oscar Pistoroius.
Percaya/Yakin pada diri sendiri, tumpuan untuk berjaya selepas menonton video Oscar Pistoroius.
4) How did you train for the Singapore SAFRA Bay Run and Army Half Marathon 2010?
In the month of Ramadan I did my training 5 days in a week with 2 rest day, it is either before break the fast or at night around 11pm.
Pada bulan Ramadhan, saya berlatih 5 hari seminggu dan berehat selama 2 hari. Saya melakukan latihan sebelum berbuka puasa atau di waktu malam sekitar jam 11.
5) What is your diet like in the days running up to the SSBR & AHM 2010?
I am taking carbohydrate, fiber, protein foods and keep hydrating in order to maintain my stamina.
Untuk mempertahankan daya tahan diri, saya mengambil makanan yg mengandungi karbohidrat, serat dan protein.
6) You overcame two major setbacks in your life, what advice would you give to people who are down and out in their lives?
Believe in yourself, think positive and make it happen!
Percaya/Yakin pada diri sendiri, berfikiran positif dan memberi tumpuan untuk berjaya.
7) By how many seconds/minutes do you intend to break your SSBR & AHM 2009 record by?
It’s is my first half marathon and the timing I did is 3hrs + but right now I plan to break below 2hr 30min & if the timing is lesser it will be a bonus to me.
Di larian marathon pertama saya mencatat masa 3 jam+. Saya ingin cuba mencatat masa kebawah 2jam 30min. Adalah bonus jika saya dapat mencatat masa yg kurang dari jangkaan saya.
