Rain is grace, rain is the sky condescending to the earth, without rain, there would be no life - John Updike. It is 4.05am, could feel the coolness and raining at Yishun Estate. This morning I start off with 3 dates, 3 slice of Banana Walnut Loaf and a cup of black coffee, consuming lots of water before fasting starts at 5.33am.
This morning I was invited and will be attending the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run at Changi. This is the first time in history where I will be running 6km during the fasting month. Wah! it's gonna be a challenging. At 6am I will be meeting Endon at her void deck as we just live across the road and will be heading together to the event site at Changi. Will be updating later as my com is jam at the moment.
We arrived at Changi Village around 6.45am and check in our baggage at the pick up counter. While waiting for the event to start, we did warm up together and run for a short distant there.

with Endon
Endon will be running the 10km route while me will be at the fun 6km run. The rain keep continuing and non stop. I was shriveling all the way anyway thanks to God for giving me this shower of bless in the month of Ramadan. While waiting I was approached by media and they did an interview with me. I told them that we must give second chance to the ex-offenders as everyone do mistake. The only problem is the lack of support given by family and friends. I had few of my friends who are been in and out of prison and they really wanted to change but at times no loves been given. I really support this Yellow Ribbon Project and hope by 2011 we could had more runners come and support this programme. While waiting for the arrival of Guest-of-Honour Mr K Shanmugam Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs to launch the campaign. I was happy to see all runners are in high spirit and does not matter they are wet. Good job guys! Will be updating later right after the run.
Flag-off for 10km Competitive Run
at the starting point
6km Fun Run (I am on the left side)
with Vanessa and friends
with Jason and friends
I did well in the run with no injuries and just a slow pace of 6km run but had improve on my timing 33.2mins. Anyway I will like to say thank you to Sng Su Min and Venessa from Burson-Marsteller for inviting me. Be honest this event is awesome and thanks to all the volunteers who had done a good job even doing duty in the rain and to the media for interviewing me. Will be updating later.
Wah! finally reach OG Orchard to collect the Timex watch and now time for me to go home and had a good shower before breaking the fast and I am happy today as I did something good to help those ex-offenders by running for a cause. I wish all of them will live in a happy times and more support from the love one. Have a nice day everyone! SBR sign off.
